Secret Service Requirements
Secret Service requirements are prestigious, as you can only imagine.
If you want a dream job with an outstanding government agency, you should be in tip top mental and physical condition. Does that surprise you?
Here’s a list of requirements set forth by the agency, (followed by a set of requirements that I personally very strongly suggest) :

• Be a U.S. Citizen
• Be between the ages of 21 and less than 37 at the time of appointment
• Possess a current valid driver’s license
• Possess visual acuity no worse than 20/60 uncorrected, correctable to 20/20 in each eye
Note: Lasik, ALK, RK and PRK are acceptable corrective eye surgeries for special agent applicants. Applicants will be considered eligible for the special agent position provided specific visual tests are passed three months after Lasik surgery and one year after all other surgeries.
• For Secret Service Agents, a 4 year degree is required.
• For Secret Service Officers, high school diploma is required (used to be 2 year college degree).

A personal list of Secret Service requirements that I strongly recommend (note the agency doesn’t require these):
• Bullet-proof mindset – Start today by challenging your mental mindset, so you can sustain less than likely desired conditions when you land the job. For example, start long runs that extend past the point when you would usually quit because its too tough. You can also do things such as read a lot to stimulate your brain.
• Get into supreme physical condition – You weren’t born with the ability to do push ups, pull ups, situps and run 1.5 miles under 11min. Rather, you practice doing these things…and increasingly get better each time. Today, start your fitness routine and make every minute count, by reading these 2 articles:

• Accountability – I talk about this one quite often on this website, and I just can’t possibly stress it enough. Learn how to take the blame when you screwed up…. and stop passing it off on others. This will help you become a better team player, and fit in better with your peers.
